Synergy Homecare Fortifies Its Presence in San Diego With Help From Military Family

January 07, 2026 // Franchising.com // Tempe, Ariz. – SYNERGY® HomeCare has announced its newest location in greater San Diego, SYNERGY HomeCare in La Mesa.

The company is owned and operated by Peter and Angela Le, a husband-and-wife duo with four children, deep military ties, and a history of volunteer work in San Diego’s school systems. Both Peter and Angela already have experience as caregivers, as Peter cared for his grandmother before enlisting in the Navy, and Angela served as Peter’s primary caregiver following his medical discharge.

Headquartered at La Mesa, the Le family and their team of compassionate caregivers will assist residents throughout Bonita, Chula Vista, El Cajon, La Mesa, Rancho San Diego, Spring Valley, and other parts of San Diego with a wide variety of non-medical, in-home care services, from companion care to personal care and respite care.

The Le family was able to notice the local growing need for these services, particularly among Baby Boomers. U.S. Census statistics show that 10,000 Baby Boomers are turning 65 every day and that by 2030, there will be more than 70 million people over 65. According to the AARP, over 80% of this demographic reports wanting to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.

After obtaining his bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity from the University of Maryland Global Campus, Peter spent much of his career working at sea. He spent long stints working aboard submarines for over a decade, and even following his medical discharge, Peter once again returned to work on the systems of Navy ships as a government lead. Between his medical discharge and his new role, though, Peter was temporarily unable to work and relied heavily on Angela and fellow Navy veterans to help him get back on his feet.

“I’ve experienced both sides of the caregiving coin,” said Peter. “Growing up, I provided care for my grandmother, which taught me the value of patience and dignity. Then, once I was the one receiving care, I truly appreciated those values on a new level. I had so much help to get me to where I am today, and that’s what made me want to help other people like me.”

Angela paused her studies at Cal State Fullerton to care for Peter and their family, two of whom are on the autism spectrum. Her experience balancing caregiving and motherhood gave her a deep appreciation for families who need reliable, understanding care. After Peter returned to work, Angela continued serving her community as a dedicated school volunteer, earning Volunteer of the Year honors in both 2024 and 2025.

“We understand how difficult it is to be prepared when it’s time to look for caregiving services,” said Angela. “Knowing that, we promise to always make sure families know what’s happening and that they feel supported every step of the way. We work tirelessly to ensure our team is kind, dependable, and truly committed to helping others.”

East County San Diego is home to multiple hospitals, retirement communities, and underserved neighborhoods. Over 20% of the area’s residents are also over the age of 65 and often need to rely on at-home caregivers for additional assistance cooking, shopping, running errands, doing light housekeeping or going for walks. Some even require personal care, such as help with bathing, dressing or using the toilet.
