Del Taco Begins New Era Following Acquisition by Yadav Enterprises

December 23, 2025 // Franchising.com // LAKE FOREST, Calif. – Del Taco has officially entered a new chapter. Now part of a franchise portfolio owned by Yadav Enterprises, Del Taco today announced the formal start of business operations under the Yadav umbrella. 

“For more than five decades, Del Taco has been a restaurant chain supported by loyal guests who have fueled a special and unique culture,” said Anil Yadav, the CEO of Yadav Enterprises. “Our recent acquisition of the Del Taco brand aligns perfectly with our long-term growth vision, and we are excited to support the next Del Taco evolution, while honoring the amazing legacy that has defined the brand for more than a half-century.”

Del Taco, which will remain headquartered in Lake Forest, California, joins a roster of notable Yadav Enterprises franchise brands. In addition to being the largest Jack in the Box, Denny’s and TGI Friday’s franchisee, Yadav Enterprises also is the franchisor for Taco Cabana, a Mexican-inspired dining chain, and Nick The Greek, a Mediterranean fast-casual concept.

“I started my restaurant journey as a teenage fry cook at Jack in the Box, worked my way through the system, and eventually became a franchisee – learning valuable lessons along the way that have served me well as both franchisee and franchisor, and will continue to do so as we officially initiate operations for Del Taco,” added Yadav. “With a unique perspective working on both sides of the business, along with tremendous admiration for franchisees, I am enthusiastic by the opportunity this venerable brand presents and optimistic about the bright future ahead for Del Taco and its franchise partners.”
