HOODZ Comes to Utah With New Franchise Location Opening

December 16, 2025 // Franchising.com // UTAH – HOODZ is opening a new franchise location in Riverton, Utah.

The franchise location opened on December 15th, and is owned and operated by husband and wife team Elliot and Tarryn Person. Elliot served in the military from 2007 to 2014 and was deployed once from 2011 to 2012. He has a professional background in accounting and has worked as an accountant and CFO for several companies. Tarryn has a culinary background and currently works as a sous chef at Brigham Young University. They will be assisted in daily operations by Dylan Statts, who previously worked with a HOODZ franchise location in Virginia and will serve as this location’s lead technician.

“When I first started looking into potential business opportunities, HOODZ immediately stood out as a company with an impeccable support system for and among their expansive network of franchise owners,” said Elliot Person, co-owner of HOODZ of Salt Lake City. “I was also drawn to the idea of owning the first HOODZ to operate in the state of Utah, presenting ample opportunities for future growth and expansion. Since all facilities with a commercial kitchen require routine exhaust cleaning and maintenance services, my team and I look forward to growing the business to serve as much of the Utah market as possible and representing the HOODZ brand on a local and national scale.”

HOODZ is the nation’s leading authority in kitchen exhaust cleaning, ensuring that restaurant and facility kitchen operations are in full compliance with local laws and national standards. From its proprietary proactive scheduling platform to customary before and after photo reports, HOODZ has the tools, equipment, and communication to make any and all commercial kitchen cleaning a hassle-free experience.

Nathan Willard, President of HOODZ, is committed to honoring the brand’s focus on keeping customers’ kitchen exhaust systems fully compliant with local regulations and fire safety codes: “HOODZ is seeing an increase in demand for overall commercial cooking throughout the U.S., driven by the rise of eating out and food delivery platforms. With that comes a great deal of grease vapors released into the kitchen exhaust system."

Since its founding in 1972, HOODZ has remained a trusted name and leading authority in kitchen exhaust cleaning and maintenance. The brand services several industries including facilities within the restaurant, health care, and government fields. Beyond everyday kitchen cleaning and maintenance, HOODZ provides full system inspections to help ensure kitchen exhaust systems fully adhere to all essential local fire codes and regulations. As a customer-first company, HOODZ is committed to providing an expert clean while adhering to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 96) standards.
