Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Greater Albany Partners with Scotia Fire Company to Brighten the Community

December 05, 2025 // Franchising.com // SCOTIA, N.Y. — Outdoor Lighting Perspectives (OLP) of Greater Albany has partnered with the Scotia Fire Company to install custom permanent roofline lighting at the firehouse, illuminating both the building and the dedication of the volunteer firefighters who serve their community.

Installation began on Monday, November 3, by OLP of Greater Albany as part of its Lighting For Good initiative, which partners with local organizations on lighting projects that foster connection, safety and community pride.”

“Our team is proud to support the Scotia Fire Company through this project,” said OLP Chief Illumination Officer Tim Williams. “These men and women dedicate so much of their time and energy to keeping the community safe, and this was a small way we could give back. The new lighting will not only enhance visibility and safety but also stand as a symbol of the department’s commitment and community pride. At OLP, we believe lighting can do more than beautify—it can bring people together and make a difference.”

Funding for the project comes entirely from the Scotia Fire Company, through private donations, fundraising and member dues. No taxpayer dollars were used for the installation.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Tim and the team at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives for stepping up to help make this project possible,” said David Wood, Chief of the Scotia Fire Department. “Having a partner willing to work with us to create something lasting for the community means a lot. The new lighting will help improve visibility for our crews and serve as a bright reminder of the strong partnership between our department and the neighbors we serve.”

The collaboration reflects Outdoor Lighting Perspectives’ broader mission to use lighting not just for beauty, but to bring people together and strengthen the communities they serve.
